After being away from my studio for over five months it was time to re-set! I had left my studio very messy; things were out of place and to it was time to put order and reorganize. After accumulating 16 years' worth of supplies. I came back home with a fresh point of view. I needed to make some needed income on my job. I made new friends on the way, sold several of my paintings and overall, it was a great successful few months. I even dedicated time to do sketches.!!
So, after coming home and taking care of chores, I decided to revamp and reorganized my studio to better serve my needs.
I feel I have successfully reconfigured my home studio to align with my artistic preferences, incorporating the following key elements:
a large easel and a smaller one, a dedicated space for life drawing and painting, an extensive pastel collection featuring hard, soft, and pastel pencils, as well as pan pastels.
Furthermore, I have allocated space for fine art drawing, sketches, and writing art notes.
My collection of art books showcasing both old and contemporary masters is prominently displayed.
An old wooden shelf showcases a selection of my favorite props accumulated over the years.
A shelf dedicated to storing pastel and drawing paper ensures that I am well-stocked for the foreseeable future.
Additionally, I have designated areas for mixed media art supplies, including oils, acrylic inks, acrylics, and watercolors.
My guitar and harmonica are also within easy reach.
To accommodate my wife's viewing preferences, I have installed a TV for watching tennis while she watches her favorite show.
An iPod stand with an old iPod enables to paint from photographs.
The studio also features framed paintings, completed but unframed works, and a collection of charcoal, graphite, and pastel studies that serve as valuable resources for future artistic development.
I am particularly pleased with the abundance of natural light provided by a large window, and for nighttime painting, I have installed three directional lights with bulbs emitting natural light.
Currently, I am creating a goal board outlining my objectives for the next three years, which will help me stay focused on achieving my artistic aspirations.
With this revamped studio, I am optimistic that I will be able to produce artwork worthy of exhibition within the next few months.
